Dr. Hoda Herati
Dr. Hoda Herati, PhD, MPH, MBBS, is a Health Policy Researcher at the National Institute on Ageing (NIA).
Before joining the NIA, Dr. Herati was a Postdoctoral Fellow at McMaster University, where she led a province-wide research study on mental health and social isolation among family caregivers of older adults in Ontario. She has also held research roles at the University of Regina and the University of Waterloo, focusing on health policy, social determinants of health, and the lived experiences of diverse and underserved communities.
Dr. Herati has co-authored multiple publications that explore critical facets of public health equity in Canada, including vaccine hesitancy among equity-deserving populations, public trust in government and health institutions during crises, and the health and well-being of immigrant and refugee communities.
She holds a PhD in Public Health Sciences from the University of Waterloo, a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Western University, and a Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery (MBBS) from the Jordan University of Science and Technology.
