NIA Team

The National Institute on Ageing is powered by a multidisciplinary team with expertise spanning health care, public policy, financial security, law, research and communications. Together, these diverse skills enable us to advance policy innovation, drive national conversations and champion the health, dignity and inclusion of older adults.

Fellows

The NIA Fellows Program is aimed at growing the NIA’s knowledge base, supporting active researchers with opportunities to work with our world-class experts and bringing together a network of individuals with a desire to help us advance thought, research and policy on areas of financial security, health and social wellbeing.

NIA Fellows fall into two distinct categories:

Senior Fellow – a retired or late-career professional with a sustained record of leading or influencing the public policy issues facing Canada’s ageing population.

Associate Fellow – a mid-career professional with a strong record of leading or influencing the public policy issues facing Canada’s ageing population.

The NIA’s Advisory Board is a group of private and public-sector volunteers who are engaged with the NIA and provide guidance to support the success of the NIA. Board members also serve as ambassadors for the NIA within their industries or sectors. Where appropriate, the Board will advise on and participate in fundraising and the securing of resources.

Board members provide expert advice on issues facing the NIA, including thought leadership that contributes to the NIA’s growth strategies. Based on personal and professional experience, industry trends and long-term forecasts, members provide insight on the research, outreach, and other activities of the NIA.
