Rizwan Khan

Rizwan is a lawyer with extensive experience in representing and advocating for non-governmental organizations working to protect and improve public and environmental health. He previously worked as counsel with the Canadian Environmental Association (CELA), Canada’s foremost environmental non-profit legal aid clinic, where he advised and represented qualifying low-income and vulnerable communities in matters relating to environmental justice. Amongst other assignments, he has advocated for and recommendations on the implementation of greenhouse gas emission regulations, the reform of the federal environmental assessment processes, improvements to nuclear energy waste and emergency planning policies, and protection of First Nation’s source waters.

Rizwan holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from Toronto Metropolitan University, a Master of Science from Dalhousie University, and a Juris Doctor from Queen’s University.
