NIA Broadens Pensions & Financial Security Program Under New Leadership: Gareth Gibbins named Head of Pensions & Financial Security
The National Institute on Ageing (NIA) at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) today announced a shift in direction for its work on pensions and financial security, strengthening its focus on advancing public policy and practical solutions under the leadership of Gareth Gibbins as Head of Pensions & Financial Security.
Beginning in January 2027, the NIA’s Pensions & Financial Security (PFS) program will build on nearly a decade of research, policy leadership and collaboration to address some of the most pressing challenges facing Canada’s retirement income system. The program will bring together expertise from across the pension and retirement financial security sectors to help translate evidence into meaningful policy and practical action.
